Alum Tour 2013 - China & the Yangtze River | | | |
Described by Napoleon as a “sleeping giant,” China is home tone of the world’s oldest and largest civilizations. On this tour, September 10-23, 2013, you will discover Beijing’s historic landmarks, including the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven and the Great Wall and the labyrinthine hutongs and Tiananmen Square.
You will see the Terra Cotta Warriors in Xi’an and the remarkable cliff carvings of Dazu County. You will have the opportunity to explore the Chongqing Zoo and see endangered giant pandas. A highlight of the trip will be the cruise down the Yangtze River aboard the brand new Century Paragon 6-deck river cruiser. The cruise will take you through the spectacular Three Gorges Dam, including the Qutang and Wu gorges. This dam is more than five times the size of Hoover Dam and has engendered much controversy. Conclude your Chinese odyssey with some time in Shanghai. Walk the Bund, Shanghai’s iconic waterfront boulevard and stroll through the lush jasmine thickets of Yu Garden in the Old City.
The cost of the land/cruise program of this once in a lifetime travel adventure is dependent upon your choice of category and deck on the river cruiser and ranges from $3,895 to $4,895. This tour is top of the line in every respect. For more information, go to http://mtsmar.ahitravel.com/promolisting.aspx.
